Certification is a process where we, at Best Practice Certification act as a confirming assessment body that recognises an organisation under a set of specified requirements, ensuring processes meet recognised standards whilst clarifying business objectives
It simply captures how you do business and may be used to demonstrate to your clients and governing bodies on how you manage your business processes

Once you have signed with us, a membership certificate is issued which states that your business has made an application to commence the certification process and is committed to developing, implementing and maintaining a management system in accordance with the specified standard. This certification is valid for a 3 month period from the date of issue and allows you the ability to tender for Government contracts whilst completing the certification process
The certification process begins with an optional gap analysis checklist against the defined criteria of the relevant standard. The gap analysis helps to identify the level of compliance that your existing management system has, and provides an opportunity to further develop your system in preparation for the next phase
At the completion of the gap analysis, we provide an assessment report outlining any faults in your management system that need to be addressed prior to certification
The stage 1 assessment is completed to determine compliance with the requirements of the applicable standard. Our assessors will look at system implementation and perform a review of internal assessment and management review records
The stage 2 assessment is the final step of the initial certification process. Your management system is assessed and verified as being implemented. Non-conformances are identified, and our friendly team will help to determine the most appropriate way of satisfying any necessary requirements
Once stage 2 assessment is complete, a client is issued with a ‘Statement of Certification’, confirming compliance with the relevant standard. This certification is valid for a 3 year period from the date of issue
During the 1st and 2nd year of certification our friendly assessor will plan and conduct surveillance assessments in order to verify that your management system is continually implemented and maintained. You will receive a plan that identifies when surveillance assessments will be carried out. Typically surveillance assessments will focus only on selected elements of the relevant standard certified and be of a shorter duration than the initial certification assessment
On the 3rd year of certification, a recertification assessment is required. This is similar to the initial certification process, and the improvement in your business processes during this period are also considered
