What is ISO 14001 Certification?

ISO 14001:2015 is an internationally recognised Environmental Management System standard. We are JAS-ANZ accredited to provide certification to this standard.

ISO 14001:2015 is centred around continual improvement and achieving consistent results for your customers. It enables organisations to:

  • Tender for work by being able to declare conformance with the standard, including government contracts
  • Provide independent, external feedback on your system implementation
  • Provide evidence of conformance and formal recognition of your management processes to interested stakeholders
  • Enhance the company’s reputation as a committed partner, contractor or supplier
  • Establish and inspire customer confidence in your products and services
  • Create a competitive advantage and marketing opportunity

An ISO 14001 Environmental Management System will need to be fully developed and implemented prior to a certification assessment. Read more on the certification process.

What are the Minimum Requirements?

Your Environmental Management System needs to have the following areas addressed:

  • Internal and external issues, including risks and opportunities
  • Scope of the EMS

  • Objectives and targets to drive continual improvement
  • Documented critical business processes, including inputs and expected outcomes from all stakeholders, clear accountabilities, resources, risks, opportunities and evaluation
  • Training records to determine competence
  • Planned and documented Internal Audits
  • Management Reviews planned and carried out as per the review inputs in the standard
  • Documented evidence of the nature of any non-conformity and corrective action taken
